World Service is a highly configurable system, designed to allow organisations to store data on a vast number of posts and jobs within a virtually unlimited variety of organisation structures. Historical records are typically also maintained about the assignment of employees to these posts - plus a wide variety of other data relating to the employees and/or their employment.

Making use of this data is obviously paramount to gaining value from World Service - and we have always striven to make reporting and analysis as easy as possible. For instance, you can:

		Create simple lists extremely quickly, and without training, by using the Quick Build option.
		Build more complex reports and/or edit the layout of the contents by using the graphical Builder.
		Define and insert any calculations, based on any data on the system, for the report to perform.
		Apply a number of conditions - with regard both to the data being retrieved and to the sort order.
		Determine whether the data should be shown within 'nested' sub-reports - and at a point in time.
		Analyse statistics, in multiple dimensions, by defining the required parameters of a table report.
		Output the results to any combination of screen, printer or files - that can be read by Excel, etc.

However for some people, and in certain circumstances, there can be no doubt that a 'picture paints a thousand words'. Nowhere is this more apparent than when trying to describe your organisation structure - whether for specific units or at a particular point in time.

OrgPlus™ is the worldwide industry standard software for the creation and publishing of organisational charts across the enterprise. The latest release (v4.0) retains and extends all the graphical options for which it is famous. It also introduces several useful new facilities, including the ability to publish charts to a web page and/or distribute them as a file that can be read by someone without access to OrgPlus itself - in either case with hyperlinks to related data held elsewhere.

In practice, however, you will often realise that you suddenly need to include additional data within the charts - or wish to update them regularly or even use them to model possible changes. Since the source of all this data will typically already be in World Service, it would be useful if OrgPlus had access to this data and could be run from within World Service. And of course it can.
